Morocc 'N Roll

It's been a while since my last post, and I thought it was high time for an update since the ENTIRE summer has passed and we are now well on our way to winter. I am happy to report that I finished my half marathon in pretty decent time with 2 of some of my favorite people by my side. I am sorry to admit however, that I can't for the life of me remember what that time actually was......
but that's besides the point.... We finished.

Since then I had the opportunity to travel to Morocco with some amazing people including my hubby, and the awesome Jesse Billauer, Jason Mraz and friends. We explored the coastline off Agadir, surfed, ate more Tagine than you could ever imagine, and sat around a campfire listening to a Jason and Toca Rivera jam sesh -  it was a pretty surreal experience to say the least.

I came home with some Argan oil, spices, and some of the baskets that are shown below.  The 3 peaks at the bottom of the first picture are mounds of spice.

I never did get to see those damn goats climbing trees that everyone was talking about.. guess I'll have to make a second trip of it...

Running through OZ

Trying to visit all the pubs Australia has to offer while keeping up with my 1/2 marathon training schedule seems like a crazy yet wonderfully perfect idea.  Don't they give out beer in or after marathons anyway???I'll just have to pop into a few pubs after my runs to see what the whole "benefit of beer" discussion is all about.   According to nutritionists, water and carbohydrates (of which beer mostly consists of) are essential for post race recovery. And a study from spain found that the salt, bubbles and sugar help the athlete's body absorb fluids more quickly than simply trying to rehydrate with water.   We'll see if I come back with a better stride, or a bigger belly...   Here's my first 4 mi run I'll try to do while staying in Bondi.  Better start with the run first and then the pub... no?
